AI-Assisted Screening Notice (Pilot Program)

1Password is currently piloting an artificial intelligence (“AI”) powered interview tool for this role. If you are selected to move forward in the hiring process, you may be invited to complete an AI-facilitated interview as an initial screening step.

This tool may record, transcribe, summarize, and analyze your interview responses to assist our recruiting team in evaluating candidate qualifications. All interview outputs are reviewed by a human recruiter, and no hiring decision will be made solely on the basis of an automated decision.

Information collected through this process will be handled in accordance with our Candidate Privacy Notice. At 1Password, AI isn't just something we build around, it's something we actively embrace and think critically about. We believe that meaningfully engaging with AI in its current forms helps us build better solutions for our customers and creates the foundation for what comes next. This pilot is a reflection of that same approach applied to how we hire: we're exploring AI thoughtfully, learning from it, and using it in ways we believe add real value.

The Ecosystems team is looking for a Developer Intern, Ecosystems; this team builds the connective tissue between 1Password and the broader software world and developers. We own the 1Password Integrations Marketplace, the public developer APIs, and will own the entry points into our developer ecosystem such as CLI, SDK. Our work sits at the intersection of developer experience, API design, and security.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada or the US. This position will be for 4 months - September to December 2026.

What you can expect:

Build features for the 1Password Integrations Marketplace - contribute to the web frontend and backend services that power how customers discover and configure integrations with their favorite SaaS tools.

Help design and implement public-facing APIs - contribute to the API platform that external developers and partners use to build on top of 1Password, following modern API standards (REST/gRPC).

Write clean, well-tested code across a modern TypeScript/React frontend and Go backend, with an eye for API contract design and reliability.

Work with real partner and developer feedback to help shape how the ecosystem grows and how integrations get built.

Collaborate across functions - partner closely with Product, Design, and partner-facing teams to ship integrations end to end.

What we're looking for:

Confidence: A willingness to take on new challenges, and see them through to completion.

Humility: You're not afraid to ask "stupid" questions and make mistakes (as long as you learn from them).

Curiosity: You look for better ways of doing things, even if everyone seems happy with how they are.

Teamwork: We work together, and succeed as a team!

Bonus points for:

Experience consuming or building REST or gRPC APIs

Familiarity with authentication/identity protocols like OAuth 2.0, SAML, or SCIM (directly relevant to partner integrations)

Experience with TypeScript and/or React

Any exposure to Go (the team's primary backend language)

Interest in developer tooling, SDKs, or building platforms that other developers build on top of
