What We’re Looking For:

2U’s Placement team is vital in the student enrollment lifecycle in identifying externship sites and matching this real world field work to students as a part of their Master’s curricula. The Placement team is focused on providing white glove customer service to students, faculty and university partners.

The Placement Specialist will form relationships with both students and externship sites where students can acquire hands-on learning and experience in their chosen field. The person in this role will be responsible for building new relationships and maintaining existing partnerships with placement sites through high outreach. Additionally, The Placement Specialist II is focused on building relationships with students to ensure their success and retention in the program by focusing on on-time placement and providing quality, faculty-approved experiences for each student. This role will require independence in the daily work associated with placing students

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Developing new partnerships and maintaining relationships with sites for placements
  • Matching sites with students and placing them with a sense of urgency to prevent any lapse in class registration
  • Providing exceptional service to students throughout the placement cycle
  • Creating individual strategy for long term placement relationships as well as fulfilling “one off” placement requirements for students with an emphasis on developing placements within a particular region of the country
  • In addition to maintaining minimum velocity requirements as expected of a Placement Specialist, the Placement Specialist II will be expected to maintain a higher or more complex caseload of students

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 or more years of work experience
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Previous experience in a fast paced, metrics driven environment
  • Previous experience in a customer service oriented environment
  • Comfort in communicating and establishing rapport in a professional manner across the following mediums: phone, email, video conference and in-person
  • Good judgment and excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Strong sense of system orientation and focus on providing “white glove” service to students and faculty
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
  • Ability to work and contribute in a team environment

Working Conditions

This role typically works 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM with breaks throughout the day. Occasional and rare travel may be needed.

Physical Requirements

This role will primarily be sedentary using a computer, keyboard, and telephone to perform most duties.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($47,400 -$63,300), with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
