What We’re Looking For:

The Senior Marketing Automation Specialist requires specialized knowledge of our Marketing Automation Platform, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SMFC). This role concentrates on building, monitoring performance, and refining email automations for the 2U portfolio of programs across multiple business areas. As a member of this team, you will identify technical solutions, prototype, and test new email strategies. The senior specialist is responsible for driving automation strategy, keeping up to date with new SFMC releases, and assisting peers with advanced implementations and troubleshooting. Must have the ability to work on multiple changing priorities with minimal oversight while maintaining flexibility through revisions, and have a commitment to quality execution.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Deploy, maintain, and optimize email marketing automations in SFMC. Drive standardization of platform configuration, journey audience criteria, naming conventions, and asset organization across the portfolio.
  • Troubleshoot journeys and automations, escalating issues as needed to the Salesforce Teams. Architect new automation solutions that drive efficiency, and build and test new email automation prototypes. Discover and share new automation best practices to maximize platform efficiency.
  • Partner and collaborate with stakeholders to drive portfolio wide automation strategy, with the goal to increase email engagement and drive business value.
  • Design and implement high potential email tests that will feed into portfolio-wide automation strategy
  • Quality Control/Quality Assurance of automated emails and configuration. Monitor automations, quickly identify mechanical issues and drive a successful resolution.
  • Assist with new product launches including creating new MC BUs, submitting new subdomain requests, SAP tickets, DevOps requests for domain delegation, and initial automation strategy.
  • Manage automation documentation and all training materials for the email team related to SFMC, keeping them organized and up to date

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • 3+ years experience developing and optimizing marketing automation strategies with a demonstrated focus on measurement, optimization, and analysis
  • 1+ years of experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, SFMC Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience managing and/or mentoring team members or external vendor relationships
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and other programming languages / analytical tools is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Ampscript, HTML / CSS fundamentals
  • Must be a team-player, able to effectively communicate with various stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and “get-it-done’ attitude
  • Highly proactive, self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Display incredible attention to details
  • Demonstrate conceptual thinking and foundational marketing skills
  • Willingness to explore creative and innovative solutions

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($95,315.50 - $107,947.50), with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
