We are seeking to hire dynamic and experienced team members to join our award winning hospitality team as Gracious Hospitality Management expands our operations to our newest project, 550 Madison.

Gracious Hospitality Management’s 550 Madison project is their most ambitious to date: a multi-level, 15,000-square-foot dining destination inside the iconic landmark Sony building. The project brings together three distinct concepts — the second New York location of the Michelin-starred COTE Korean Steakhouse, an all-day multi-bar and dining concept, Bar Chimera, and an intimate sushi restaurant led by Michelin-starred Chef Masahiro Yoshitake, Sushi Yoshitake. Designed by Rockwell Group, with Yoshio Itai collaborating on the sushi concept, 550 Madison is set to redefine immersive, transportive dining in Midtown Manhattan.

Job Summary:

Drink Runners are dynamic hospitality professionals responsible for the rapid delivery of drink orders from the bar to customer tables. Runners elegantly present each beverage to the table with detailed explanations of the item’s major components. Runners also act as a liaison between the bar and service team.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Completes all assigned side work related to set up and breakdown of the bar. Ensures the bar is well-stocked with glasses, coasters, napkins, straws, ice, liquor, wine, and beer.Stocks and organizes drink pass with garnishes and straws.Prepares glassware, ticket rail, and drink trays.Garnishes drinks, pours beer from keg, opens soda bottles, according to bartenders’ instructions.Delivers customer beverages to their assigned position and table quickly and accurately.Maintains tables by removing glassware as completed, replenishing beverages, refilling water glasses and being alert to customer needs when delivering beverages.
  • Takes orders from customers and ensures 100% accuracy when entering orders into the system.
  • Drink runners should have thorough knowledge of all beverage items, ingredients, and presentation to answer all customer inquiries and maintain quality control.
  • Reports to each scheduled shift on time, in uniform, and ready to work.
  • Ensures beverage is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature).
  • Liaises between bartenders and floor staff.
  • Reads the order tickets and ensures that all customers are delivered the correct beverages.
  • Ability to answer customers’ questions about cocktails and wines by the glass.
  • Responsible for training new employees as assigned.
  • Assists other stations or areas of the restaurant when requested by management.
