FULL_TIME Human Resources
Manager

It's a new day with a new opportunity at 8am!

About the role:

8am is building out its presence in the Czech Republic and needs an experienced HR or Recruiting Manager to own the full people experience for our growing team there. From recruitment and onboarding to engagement, culture and compliance, you'll act as an extension of our US-based People Team, bringing our practices to life locally while ensuring everything complies with Czech labor law.

Beyond HR, you'll be the person who makes sure the Czech office runs smoothly day to day, from people programs to the physical workspace. You are an extremely collaborative relationship-builder who moves comfortably between the administrative and the strategic. You are a creative problem solver who takes pride in building a great place to work.

About us:

8am builds software that helps professionals run stronger businesses. Our platform powers payments, client experience, and operational workflows for legal, accounting, and other service-based businesses. U.S. based professionals count on our purpose-built solutions to simplify operations, ensure compliance, and fuel profitable growth, so they can focus on their clients and do more of the work that matters.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the local workstream for our transition to a legal entity in the Czech Republic, partnering with legal, finance, and the US People Team on contracts, statutory registrations, and compliant HR infrastructure
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the company, employees, and our EOR/PEO provider during and after the transition
  • Localize global HR policies for the Czech team and act as the communication link between local employees and the US People Team
  • Drive local recruitment end to end, lead the local recruiter(s), and partner with hiring leaders on interview process, offers, and pipeline health
  • Own the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contract changes, and offboarding, and coordinate with payroll providers on benefits and statutory reporting
  • Manage statutory and supplementary benefits, ensure HR practices meet Czech Labor Code and GDPR requirements, and advise on probation, notice periods, and terminations
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Prague and Brno workspaces, plan employee engagement activities, and foster a culture of belonging
  • Report on key HR metrics, including turnover, engagement, and hiring progress, to the US People Team

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 4+ years of HR experience, including managing recruitment processes or recruiters and direct people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Czech Labor Code and local employment practices
  • Proficiency in HRIS and recruiting platforms (we use Workday and Greenhouse)
  • Fluent in Czech and professional working English
  • A great listener with a knack for building trust-based relationships at all levels; you communicate with objectivity, honesty, and clarity
  • Comfortable zooming out to think on behalf of the organization and zooming in to handle individual-level nuance
  • A self-starter who takes the wheel before being asked, and is equally comfortable with administrative detail and strategic ambiguity
  • Experience with entity setup, HR infrastructure build-out, or EOR/PEO transitions is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.
  • This position is preferably based in Brno or Prague, Czech Republic, and willing to travel between both offices.

  • A direct line to leadership: Partner closely with our US People Team and local leaders to influence policy, process, and culture while we're still building it.
