About Faire

Faire is a technology wholesale platform built on the belief that the future is local. Independent retailers around the globe collectively represent a multi-hundred-billion-dollar wholesale market that has historically been fragmented and offline. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so businesses can grow and local communities can thrive.

We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.

About this role

Faire's financial products are among the most powerful and differentiated value props we offer — and among the most consequential for both sides of our marketplace. We extend net-60 and net-90 payment terms to retailers on behalf of brands, offer the Faire Pay credit card with 3% back on purchases, and are actively building brand financing. These products do something our partners simply cannot do on their own: absorb risk, deploy capital efficiently, and unlock purchasing behavior that drives growth across the platform.

We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to own the entire Faire Pay portfolio — someone who can run disciplined day-to-day execution on Faire Pay while simultaneously developing the longer-term strategic roadmap for how financial products evolve as a core business line. This means thinking clearly about unit economics and cost of capital, building conviction around where Faire has durable competitive advantages, and shipping products that move real business metrics.

What you'll do

  • Own strategy and roadmap for Faire's financial products. Set the multi-year direction for how Faire Pay, net terms, brand financing, and future financial products evolve, and build the prioritized, financially grounded roadmap to get there.
  • Drive Faire Pay adoption and marketplace impact. Expand the invited retailer cohort, improve activation and retention across the funnel, and demonstrate that financial products are a meaningful growth lever for the core marketplace, not just a standalone offering.
  • Own the unit economics. Think in contribution margin, cost of capital, and payback periods. Optimize interchange, manage loss rates, and identify where structural advantages exist versus where we need to earn our way in.
  • Partner deeply across Finance, Risk, Legal, Data Science, and Engineering. Earn trust across functions, lead without authority, and keep complex, multi-stakeholder work moving without losing momentum.
  • Build the infrastructure for scale. Partner to develop the data infrastructure, risk frameworks, and operational foundations needed to grow financial products responsibly, from underwriting logic to regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate clearly at every altitude. Translate complex, technical topics (cost of capital, credit risk, underwriting tradeoffs) for a wide range of audiences, from engineering partners to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with demonstrated ability to own complex, cross-functional products end to end.
  • Genuine fintech depth. You've built and shipped financial products — credit, lending, payments, BNPL, or similar — and you understand the mechanics: underwriting logic, cost of capital, credit risk, contribution margin, and regulatory constraints. You don't need to be a finance expert, but you need to be able to lead the room.
  • Business equation fluency. You think comfortably in unit economics. You can model whether a new product makes sense given Faire's cost of capital, estimate cohort-level payback periods, and identify structural advantages worth betting on.
  • Strategic clarity with hands-on execution. You can zoom out and develop a defensible multi-year point of view, then zoom back in to write crisp PRDs, drive sprint-level execution, and unblock your team.
  • Customer and business model empathy. You deeply understand how retailers and brands run their businesses — their cash flow cycles, how they think about credit and payment terms, and what makes them trust a financial product. You design around customer needs, not just what's technically feasible.
  • Cross-functional influence across Finance, Risk, Legal, Data Science, and Engineering, and a track record of aligning diverse stakeholders while maintaining momentum.
  • Structured problem solving. You break ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses, don't mistake activity for progress, and diagnose root causes rather than escalate.
  • High learning velocity. Financial products sit at the intersection of marketplace dynamics, risk, and regulatory complexity.
  • Proven ability to influence at the executive level and to communicate complex topics with clarity and conviction across audiences.
  • B2B marketplace experience is a strong plus — particularly familiarity with two-sided dynamics, competing customer objectives, and the structural differences between B2B and consumer credit.
